Cooperages 1912 Introduces TW Boswell Forest Reserve: Premiere French Oak Selection

NAPA, Calif. (March 25, 2024) – TW Boswell announces the launch of Forest Reserve. This exclusive option offers winemakers the opportunity to select wood for their barrels from a range of premiere French forests, each renowned for its exceptional quality and unique terroir.

TW Boswell Forest Reserve brings together a meticulous selection of French oak, sourced from some of the most prestigious forests in France. Winemakers can choose from four distinct forest options: Tronçais; Nièvre; Allier; and a harmonious blend of Russy, Bertranges, and Bercé. Each forest imparts a unique finesse, capturing the essence of the terroir and allowing winemakers to tailor barrels to their exact specifications.

The wood is cataloged by forest and honed into staves at their mill in Northeastern France. Rough staves age naturally for 30 months, benefiting from the seasonal climate of the region. The natural elements facilitate changes to oak chemistry which result in added elegance and a softer oak profile. All Forest Reserve material is PEFC certified which ensures oak is harvested from these forests in a sustainable manner.

Forest Reserve made its debut at the Unified Wine and Grape Symposium in January 2024. With allocated inventory now available, winemakers are encouraged to contact their TW Boswell Barrel consultant for availability.
